2006

Planting the Seed of a Dream

In the spring, as tender tea shoots began to sprout, Yú Teahouse’s founder, Catherine Yung, set foot on the tea mountains of Yunnan for the very first time, accompanying her mother, who was engaged in the Pu’er tea trade. That journey not only deepened her understanding of tea, but also revealed to her the simplicity and joy of life in the tea mountains. Unknowingly, a quiet dream began to take root in her heart—the dream of bringing this sense of peace and happiness to people in the city.

2013

A Resilient Seed Sprouts

Yú Teahouse took root in a humble industrial district. In its early days, we faced countless challenges and obstacles, yet we remained steadfast. To us, Yú Teahouse was never just a teashop—it was a place where more people could experience the allure of tea and its power to soothe both body and mind. It was this conviction that drove us to persevere, meeting every challenge with unwavering resolve.

2017

Rooting and Growth

Since its founding, Yú Teahouse has been fortunate to collaborate with many renowned brands. In 2017, we were invited by Eslite Bookstore to establish a presence in the city center, marking a new chapter of challenges and opportunities. We expanded our scope of services to include wholesale tea, offering a wide selection ranging from Chinese and Japanese teas to Western black teas and herbal blends. In addition, we began providing bespoke tea gifts, tea master training, and customized tea menus to meet the diverse needs of our clients.

2017 – Present

Sowing the Seeds

With a vision of sharing and promoting tea culture, Yú Teahouse aspires to help more people discover the unique charm of tea. Through thoughtfully designed Tea Master training and our Tea Tasting & Evaluation Program, as well as a variety of enriching tea experiences, we are dedicated to educating and inspiring tea enthusiasts. To date, our programs have nurtured over three hundred students.

In the fast-paced rhythm of Hong Kong, we hope to offer an alternative—a space for slow living. For us, every cup of tea is a journey, and we look forward to embarking on this wonderful voyage of tea with you.
